DFID’s Syria Education Program: Providing Access to Quality Education for Children and Young People

Israel: Up to 15,000 Euro available for Levi Lassen Foundation Grant

The UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) is currently inviting applicants for its Syria Education Program to discuss and explore how best to implement an education programme inside Syria under a multi-year agreement potentially starting from January 2018 and likely to run for 3 years.

DFID intends to discuss the possible scope of the work with a view to helping inform design of this potential programme. In particular, DFID would like to understand current areas and levels of supplier expertise in the education sector inside Syria, the broader MENA region and in other conflict and high risk environments.

Program Structure

DFID intends to hold a workshop style session. The session will focus on:

In line with UK policy, the work will take a gender and disability sensitive approach. Two identical workshops will be held, one in Amman, Jordan, on Monday 5th June 2017, and a second in Gaziantep, Turkey, on Wednesday 7th June 2017.

Funds Available

The estimated potential funding of between £18 million and £39 million is available.
