Dublin City Council’s Community Grant scheme provides support to a wide variety of groups across the city annually that facilitate projects, events and activities to encourage social inclusion.

The Local Area Community Grant Scheme 2024 provides funding to support non-profit, community-based and/or voluntary sector organizations or groups located in or serving the Dublin City administrative area. Under the Scheme, community and voluntary groups can apply for grants for activities that benefit the local community. Applications must relate to at least one key priority area to be eligible for consideration.

Types of Grant

• The maximum value of the Local Area Community Grant is up to €1,500.
  • The purpose of the Grant is to support local groups working in one of the support areas or on a main theme. This is a broad area and includes (but is not limited to):

    • Family
    • Day trips
    • Local Culture/History
    • Intergenerational events
    • Resident groups
    • Wellness
    • Local festivals/events
    • Support groups/local services

    • Local Neighborhood Improvement
    • Disability interest groups
• The Adult Education Grant is worth between €200 – €800 per applicant.
  • The purpose of this grant is to support Informal learning which can be structured or unstructured. It covers a range of activities and topics, including but not limited to:

    • Creative Writing
    • IT/Social Media Skills
    • personal development
    • Cooking
    • Educational Tours

• Only applications from non-profit, community-based and/or public sector organizations in Ireland will be considered.
