Deadline: 16-Apr-23
Applications are now open for the YOUNG PEOPLE remember [re]create Digital History Funding Program financed with resources from the German Foreign Office.
The project focuses on collaborative work as well as joint development of digital tools and applications, e.g. campaigning projects, interactive biographies or virtual reality applications, augmented reality, apps, social media campaigns, serious games, interactive websites or media stations. It is important that these are developed for international historical-political youth educational work.
Campaigning entails primarily using various means of press and public relations work to achieve an objective in the most effective and efficient way possible within a certain period of time and in order to convince people of one’s cause. In campaigning, the target group is not simply the addressee; people are to be turned into enthusiasts, and in the best case even an ambassador. In the area of social media, community management is particularly important so that active interaction with the target group is possible.
Project Financing
- Projects are funded with what is known as shortfall funding. This means that the EVZ Foundation will cover the expenses that the grant recipient cannot finance through own fund or external funds. Own funds or additional third-party funds are possible in this funding format.
- Funding will be provided for development costs of the digital tools and applications, travel costs, incidental travel expenses, program costs, professional fees, personnel costs, costs for disseminating and securing results as well as a lump-sum for administration costs.
- Personnel costs may be applied for to a limited extent to carry out the project (preparation, implementation, follow-up work). The amount should be in proportion to the project costs and based on local salary levels.
Project Duration
- Subject to final funding approval from the Federal Foreign Office, projects are expected to start from June 15, 2023. The maximum project duration will be 18 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bilateral and multilateral projects with partners and participants from Germany, Europe as well as Israel can be funded. A maximum of four countries can take part in a project. One partner has to be from Germany.
- Every participating partner may submit an application for the joint project. However, only one application per partnership may and should be submitted. Applicants may be non-profit institutions and legally responsible organizations of school or informal education from Germany, Europe or Israel (e.g. youth education centers, youth centers, schools, universities, memorial sites, historical learning sites, museums, associations, cultural institutions or other civil society players).
- They very much welcome applications from partnerships in informal education with the civic-tech sector.
- Participants should be between 14 and 35 years of age.
- There is no minimum or maximum number of participants. It is important that educational standards are applied in planning for the pilot phase and for the focus group, and also that the composition of the group(s) reflects the country diversity of applicants.
Ineligible
