Galloper Wind Farm Fund in the UK

The Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is seeking applications for its Galloper Wind Farm Fund to contribute to the appearance, setting, conservation, amenity, accessibility and enjoyment of the Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB specifically within the area defined as a 5km radius of Sizewell, the location of the Galloper substation.

The fund is administered by Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB on behalf of Galloper Wind Farm Ltd, which is operated by RWE renewables on behalf of the project partners, and is held by Suffolk County Council. A Panel meets once a year (usually in spring) to assess projects and award grants.

The Galloper Wind Farm Fund Panel includes representatives from Suffolk County Council, East Suffolk Council and Leiston Town Council.

Funding Information

There is no lower or upper amount for grant requests, but the maximum is likely to be in the region of £2,000 to £2,500 per application. Grants of up to 100% can be awarded towards project costs.

Geographical Area

The geographical area for the Galloper Wind Farm Fund is defined primarily by a 5km radius from Sizewell or up to the high-water mark.

Essential Criteria

The Galloper Wind Farm Fund Panel is particularly keen to encourage projects that are pertinent to its key priorities. Preference will therefore be given to projects that cover one or all of the following:
