UNDP is seeking competent and reputable registered Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), non-governmental organizations, or community-based organization to strengthen women and youths Participation in transitional justice processes, and conduct outreach, and training activities on Truth, Reconciliation, and Healing in Unity State.
Objectives
- The objective of the grant is to promote Inclusive participation of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) in all aspects of transitional justice processes (design, implementation, evaluation) can be important not only in fostering local ownership and perceptions of legitimacy but also as an opportunity to empower PWD and challenge a range of exclusions and power relations at local, national, and international levels through:
- Form a network/group of PWD and meaningfully engage them in leadership of efforts to pursue truth, justice and accountability for human rights violations and abuses committed.
- Develop the capacity of PWD in order to ensure their vital participation in the transitional justice processes;
- Engaged, trained and developed the capacities of local-level disability advocates/groups in a range of coreskills and competencies with the aim to facilitate and sustain highly effective participation in the CTRH process;
- Reach out to over 2000 victims of PWD, seek their views on the design of the legal framework of CTRH;
- Carry out trainings for over 50% of the victims of PWD about rights, leadership, advocacy skills, public speaking;
- Improve collaboration, coordination and cooperation amongst PWD groups to pursue truth, justice, and accountability.
Funding Information
- The budget should be detailed, complete, rational and realistic, and must not exceed the equivalent of USD$ 25,000.00 (Twenty- five thousand United States of America dollars only) .
Eligibility Criteria
- The CSO/NNGO/CBO/Media must meet the following criteria to be eligible for selection:
- Be legally registered as CSO/NNGO/CBO with the Republic of South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) valid registration certificate,
- Registered with South Sudan NGO Forum,
- Mandate and founding document should be in line with the activities for which the fund is being sought,
- Have an established office and experience in implementing similar/related activities.
- Not have an ongoing grant on transitional justice activities with UNDP
