The La Caixa Foundation is seeking applications to promote projects in rural areas, adapted to their territorial characteristics and social needs, to improve living conditions and generate opportunities for families, children, and adolescents, women, the elderly, and people at risk of social exclusion.

The emigration of the rural population is usually led by the young population, which produces one negative spiral in the territory: the young population emigrates, therefore, the population is aging and, at the same time, birth rate, which causes the population to age even more. This dynamic points out, then, that there is none it is enough to stop the emigration of the rural population to solve the problem, but it needs to be able to be generated attraction of new population to areas that are in situations of depopulation.

- Promotion of personal autonomy and care for aging, disability and illness
- The priority lines in this area are:
- Improvement of personal autonomy, with comprehensive attention to the place of residence
- Prevention and response to social isolation and unwanted loneliness
- Interrelation of the elderly with people of other ages (childhood, youth, adults …)
- Attention to people at the end of life, and to their family and social environments

- Care for children and adolescents and people in a situation of social exclusion

- Programs for children and adolescents that promote their psychosocial development and in guarantee equal opportunities
- Promoting the inclusion and psychosocial development of children and adolescents in a situation of poverty or at risk of exclusive, and their family environment

- Socio-labor development aimed at people with difficulties in accessing employment
- The priority lines towards which the projects must be directed are:
- Socio-labor insertion itineraries adapted to the potentials and characteristics of the rural environment
- Promotion of entrepreneurship, self-employment and cooperativism projects
- Support for the diversification of activities into existing projects

Funding Information
- The requested projects must have duration of 12 months and can be presented as projects:
- Individuals: the amount requested cannot exceed € 40,000.
- Partnerships: the amount requested cannot exceed € 60,000.
- The amount requested may not exceed 75% of the total cost of the project. If the project is selected, the entity undertakes to contribute at least 25% of the total cost of the project according to the budget presented, regardless of the amount of aid granted
- In the case of corporate foundations, the amount requested may not exceed 50% of the total cost of the project and the entity undertakes to contribute at least 50% of the total cost of the project according to the budget presented
Eligibility Criteria
- The entities that can apply to the call are:
- Non-profit organizations
- Entities of the social economy whose statutes explicitly state, among the purposes indicated, that the main goal is the social interest or social cohesion
- The requirements for entities, both managers and partnerships, are:
- Be certified in the new application calls convocatories.fundaciolacaixa.org and designate a person responsible for the project.
- Be registered in the corresponding administrative register, have their domicile in Spain and develop the project presented in Spain.
- Have your own NIF.
- Have statutes and have a minimum of one year of activity, since the constitution.
- In the case of delegations, they can present themselves independently, as long as they prove to have autonomy formal, functional and organic. In this way:
- They must be recognized by the parent entity and have a minimum operating age as one-year delegation.
- They must have an autonomous operation with respect to the parent entity, with its own structure and body own government.
- They must have their own budget differentiated from the parent entity.
