The INNO INDIGO Partnership Programme (IPP) have launched an Indo-European Science and Technology Joint Call for Proposals on Biobased Energy. The projects should be undertaken by a partnership of institutions (“consortium”) designed to produce new knowledge through fundamental, experimental and/or theoretical scientific research.
The aim of the INNO INDIGO Partnership Programme (IPP) is to support high quality research, development and innovation projects involving partners from Europe and India.
Thematic Area
Biobased Energy: India and Europe seek to reduce their carbon footprint by increasing their research on sustainable alternative energies. Among these alternative energies, biobased energy is of particular interest for both partners, especially energy produced from biomass and waste, to replace or complement fossil fuels both in the transport sector and in power (and heat) generation.

Funding Information and Duration
Depending on national regulations, the following items can be funded:
- Mobility
- Organization of events
- Research costs
- Personnel costs
The INDIGO Partnership Programme S&T call will fund transnational collaborative research and development projects with a maximum duration of three years if not mentioned otherwise in the national/regional regulations.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications may be submitted by public and/or private entities which are eligible according to their respective national/regional regulations.
- Consortia that wish to apply for funding of a research project within the above mentioned topics, have to consist of at least three partners: two from different European countries participating in the call, and one from India.
- Partners from countries other than those participating in the IPP S&T Call can join a consortium but have to secure their own funding.
How to Apply
- The application procedure has one submission stage.
- Proposals must be submitted electronically using the PT-Outline web tool given on the website.
- All proposals must be in English and budgets have to be calculated in Euros.
Eligible Countries: India, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Germany and Latvia.
