Investigative Journalism Reporting Grants (Uganda)

Chevening: Africa Media Freedom Fellowship

Deadline: 5-Dec-20

The African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME) in partnership with the Democratic Governance Facility is pleased to invite Ugandan journalists to apply for grants to support ambitious story projects that require more than the regular newsroom facilitation to pull off.

Since 2014, ACME has awarded reporting grants to more than 100 journalists. For this round, ACME will award 12 reporting grants with winning proposals receiving up to Shs 1,800,000 in financial support.

Upon selection by an independent panel, grantees will be invited to attend a mandatory one-day induction seminar during which they will work with ACME to refine their story ideas and receive coaching support.

Each journalist who receives a grant will be expected to produce and broadcast/publish the proposed in-depth story within 10 weeks from receipt.
