The East End Community Foundation (EECF) is seeking applications for its Isle of Dogs Grants Chest & Millwall Park Endowment Fund to support positive community activities across their geographic areas of benefit.
EECF recognises the profound and far reaching impact of the coronavirus pandemic on local communities. Organisations are actively encouraged to submit ideas for projects and activities that respond to the specific needs that they have identified in relation to employment, education & learning and wellbeing & inclusion for local residents.
Funding Information
- Organisations can apply for a grant of up to £10,000 either through the Isle of Dogs Grants Chest or the Millwall Park Endowment Fund.
What Cannot be Funded?
- East End Community Foundation will not fund:
- Grants to individuals
- Expenditure or activities that have already taken place. By this they mean that retrospective funding will not be awarded; applications may be for ongoing provision
- Services which are a statutory responsibility (i.e. are the responsibility of the Council, Government or Health Authorities)
- Projects that have no community or charitable element
- Projects that are purely for the advancement of religion or politics
- Foreign travel
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible to apply to either the Isle of Dogs Grants Chest or the Millwall Park Endowment Fund, organisations must:
- Be based within and/or strongly connected with and meeting the needs of the local community in the restricted geographical area
- be a not-for-profit organisation that is formally constituted i.e. have a signed governing document in the group’s name. This includes unincorporated associations and community groups, registered charities, social enterprises, schools, Community Interest Companies (CIC), Charitable Incorporated Organisations(CIO), companieslimited by guarantee and faith groups where the project clearly does not promote a particular religious or political view.
- have good financial management procedures, including annual accounts or a formal record of income and expenditure
- have a bank account in the name of the group, with at least two unrelated cheque signatories
- have at least two unrelated management committee members if you are an unincorporated organisation or voluntary group
- have a safeguarding policy in place if working with young people and children under the age of 18 or vulnerable adults, where applicable
