The GiveBradford is currently accepting applications for the Manjit Wolstenholme Fund to support children and young people in disadvantaged areas of Bradford to achieve their potential through educational and aspirational opportunities.
Manjit is an inspirational figure and role model to many and PFG continue to support and develop the funding – now in its fourth round – to ensure that young people in Bradford are not denied opportunities to achieve their true potential and are supported to take the next steps in education and employment.
Funding Information
- You can apply for a one-year grant of £10,000 or a two-year grant of £5,000 per year (£10,000 in total over 2 years). The grant can be used to part-fund or fully-fund a wide range of activities.
What can the Fund support?

Activity and support must be delivered to young people up to age 21, their parents, carers, family members or key influencers who work directly with young people. The proposed activity should support one or more of the following:
- Increasing aspiration and enabling young people to make informed choices about their next steps in education and learning
- Developing confidence, resilience and life skills in order to increase attainment and access to education and learning opportunities (including within the world of work)
- Addressing issues of low educational attainment and improving learning outcomes
- Providing young people with opportunities to reduce inequality, exclusion and disadvantage, and therefore increase access to education and learning
- Supporting digital and IT skills for inclusion and increased aspiration
- Improving young people’s personal finance capabilities (debt and financial advice/ education)
Eligibility Criteria

Incorporated community groups such as CIOs, CICs and charitable companies from the third sector that:
- Are registered with the Charity Commission, Companies House or Mutuals Public Register (FCA)
- Have a constitution or other relevant governance document
- Have a management committee/board of directors/trustees of at least three unrelated people, none of whom have significant control
- Have a bank account under the name of the group with at least two unrelated signatories (if your organisation doesn’t have its own bank account, but does meet all of the other criteria)
- Are based in or supporting people living in the Bradford Metropolitan District Area
- Charities that are registered with the Charity Commission but are not an incorporated structure can also apply. However, grants cannot be used to pay staff that are directly employed by the charity.
