Deadline: 30-Jun-25
The Maypole Fund is currently accepting applications for its 2025 grant cycle, offering financial support to feminist initiatives that challenge militarism and promote peace.
Established in 1986 by women involved in the peace movement, particularly the Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp, the fund aims to empower women-led projects that employ imaginative, non-violent approaches to address issues related to war and militarism.
Eligible applicants include individual women and women-only groups proposing projects that focus on feminist anti-militarism, anti-war activism, actions against the arms trade, opposition to nuclear weapons and weapons systems, and support for disarmament policies and processes.
The fund particularly encourages applications from young women’s groups, lesbian groups, and individuals or collectives that lack access to other funding sources or whose projects struggle to attract financial support elsewhere.
Preference is given to imaginative and creative activities, especially those that have not yet commenced.
Successful applicants may receive grants of up to £1,000. It’s important to note that the fund does not cover ongoing operational costs, academic studies, economic development initiatives like investments in machinery or private businesses, or participation in conferences and study visits by individuals from the Global North.
Grant recipients are required to use the funds exclusively for the proposed project or activity, ensure that the project has not started before the grant decision, and submit a report within six months of the project’s conclusion detailing the outcomes and expenditure.
Acknowledgment of The Maypole Fund’s support in project publications and on relevant platforms is also expected.
Applications must be submitted by 30 June 2025.
