The Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs’ (OES) Office of International Health and Biodefense (IHB) at the Department of State, is seeking applications for its “Mosquito Talk: Building and Expanding International Network of Public Health Communicators to Engage on Zika and Vector Borne Diseases” to build a broad international community which will help drive innovative and locally appropriate solutions to stop mosquitos that carry Zika and other diseases.

The “Mosquito Talk” project will consist of four elements:

The Bureau of OES is announcing this new funding opportunity with the goal of expanding an international network of communicators to better engage international audiences on strategies to combat the threat of mosquito-borne illnesses such as Zika virus and to spur multi-sectoral action on vector control. The planned activities will facilitate networking to share best practices and coordinate strategic messaging among a diverse variety of health communicators including journalists, community leaders, and educators.
