Do you represent an international company? The entire production chain is not always transparent. You may not be aware of child labour in your production chain. Entrepreneurs that actively want to end child labour in their chain, can get support from the Fund against Child Labour (FBK) programme.
Funding Information
- Applicants may apply for a subsidy of no more than €475,000 for each project, representing a maximum of 70% of the total project costs. FBK will subsidise at least 11 projects each year.
For Whom?
FBK helps Dutch entrepreneurs that want to:
- Research the root causes of child labour in their production chains;
- Take actions to prevent child labour at a local level;
- Take measures to prevent child labour in their businesses.
Projects
- Applicants may apply for a subsidy for the following types of projects:
- local impact research: in-depth research into child labour on-site and in the industry;
- on-site activities to end child labour in combination with due diligence measures in your industry.
- Applicants may apply for a subsidy for projects A and B.
- Applicants may apply for project B after they have implemented project A.
Conditions
- Applicants apply for a subsidy for activities aimed at combatting child labour.
- Applicants carry out these activities in a partnership within 4 years.
- FBK accepts applications for countries on the list of recipients of Official Development Assistance (pdf).
- Applicants can find all the details of the FBK administrative rules and their project criteria in the unofficial translation of the Government Gazette.
- Applicant’s project follows the international guidelines for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Partnership
- One of the conditions to apply is that the applicant’s company finds partners. Applicant’s company must have partners with:
- other companies in the same sector;
- other organisations, such as NGOs or sector organisations;
- local parties, such as local authorities, schools, children and parents.
- Applicants’ partnership consists of at least:
- 1 Dutch company;
- 1 NGO, and
- 1 local company.
- If the applicant does not have a partnership with a local company yet, please explain in the project proposal how they will include a local company in their project. Only a Dutch company or NGO can apply for a subsidy.

- Contact them for a noncommittal orientation interview. Please send your email to them.
- Complete the quick scan for their advice. Please send the quick scan 6 weeks before the closing date.
- During the opening for applications, you can apply via their apply page. There you will also find all forms to send with your application.
- FBK operates on the ‘first come first served’ principle. This means that they will assess complete subsidy applications in the order in which they receive them.
