The CARE International and the partner institution Development and Guarantee Fund of the Brčko District (RGFBD) invite non-governmental organizations registered in the Brčko District of BiH, involved in work with socio-economically endangered and vulnerable categories of citizens, to apply for participation in the “Socio-Economic Inclusive Initiative” Project.
The project “Socio-Economic Inclusive Initiative”, which is implemented by CARE with the project partner RGFBD and financially supported by the Czech Development Agency and CARE Czech Republic, will contribute to the socio-economic integration of endangered and vulnerable categories of citizens of Brčko District (BD), especially the population of weaker social and economic status, who mostly suffer from long-term unemployment. The project concentrates its efforts on BD and invests in increasing the socio-economic inclusion of marginalized groups. This is also reflected in the goal of the Project, which is to increase social inclusion and create sustainable employment opportunities for citizens in BD with a special focus on threatened and vulnerable groups, through raising the capacity for employment, supporting entrepreneurial activities and enabling a favorable environment for more inclusive economic development.
Grant Categories
- A maximum of 4 local NGOs covering the direct target project groups will be selected within four categories to receive grants and fieldwork training and other assistance to the Project. One NGO can apply with one or at most two categories of beneficiaries (primary and secondary):
- LOT 1: NGO whose mission and activities include Roma as the main target group
- LOT 2: NGO whose mission and activities include people with disabilities as the main target group
- LOT 3: NGO whose mission and activities are youth as the main target group
- LOT 4: NGO whose mission and activities include women as the main target group
Funding Information
- The maximum amount of financial support for institutional development and advocacy projects per LOT is a maximum of 15,600.00 KM.
Manner of NGO Participation in the Project
- Work of non-governmental organizations in the field within the Project: Selected NGOs will be invited to develop detailed plans for advocacy activities for the interests of target groups, in accordance with the stated project results (detailed guidelines for this process will be provided by the Project). Based on the approved plans, NGOs will receive financial support for their implementation. Specific advocacy topics will depend on the priorities set by the Center for Socio-Economic Inclusion, CARE and the non-governmental organizations themselves. These can be topics about socioeconomic rights, participation in decision-making, models of inclusion, prospects for the development of additional services/products that would best serve vulnerable citizens, etc. The NGO will also actively participate in the exchange of information about the services/opportunities provided to users through the project, through community awareness raising workshops, representing the interests of vulnerable groups during events, advocacy and dialogues organized by the Project, providing direct support to users in accessing rights and similar activities. .
- Institutional support to NGOs: Based on the initial needs assessment, the Project will provide support to selected NGOs to strengthen their institutional capacities, visibility tools and technical resources for more effective action implementation. CARE and partner RGFDB will, in accordance with the expressed needs, advise and mentor selected non-governmental organizations during the Project within various topics of organizational management. CARE will provide administrative and financial guidelines that will ensure proper follow-up of Donor and CARE procedures for the implementation of activities.
Expected Results
- The expected results of the project are:
- Result 1: Endangered and vulnerable populations of BD have increased their capacity for employment and knowledge of the rights of their citizens, through education and awareness raising.
- Result 2: Increase of capacity, skills and employment opportunities for unemployed citizens of BD and creation of new jobs for endangered and vulnerable categories, through project financial and technical support. It is also planned to establish and put into operation the Center for Socio-Economic Inclusion of BD.

- The NGO is registered no later than December 2023
- The NGO is registered in the Brčko District
- The NGO has premises for work
- Political organizations are not eligible to apply
