Creative Scotland has launched a call for applications for the Open Fund: Sustaining Creative Development.
The fund aims to enable individuals and organisations to explore ways of working that will help them to adapt and respond to the current changing circumstances.
Purpose
Creative Scotland is committed to ensuring that people are supported to develop excellence and experimentation in a wide range of arts and creative activity, reflecting Scotland’s diverse and dynamic cultures. They want to ensure that the experience of the arts and creative activity benefits as many people as possible across Scotland’s communities and places. They have a key role in ensuring that Scotland’s creative workforce and businesses have opportunities to develop, evolve and flourish.
Funding Information
- Funding for Individuals
- Creative Scotland can accept applications between £1,000 and £50,000. Their aim is to support as many individuals as possible to sustain their practice and expect that most applications will be up to £15,000.
- They understand that your needs will depend on many things, including the type of project of activity you wish to do. For example, working with others (collaborative projects or activity) and more complex projects or activity may cost more.
- If you are applying for between £15,001 and £50,000, they will ask you to tell them more about some elements of your project or activity. You also must fill in and provide a Risk form with your application.
- You can apply for activity which will last up to 12 months.
- Funding for Organisations
- You can apply for a grant from £1,000 to £15,000 or for a grant from £15,001 to £50,000. These guidelines and the Open Fund for Organisations: Sustaining Creative Development Application Form cover both.
- If you are applying for a grant from £15,001 to £50,000 they will ask you some additional questions and you must complete a separate form for assessing risk.
Eligibility Criteria
- Funding for Individuals
- Freelance and self-employed artists and creative practitioners in Scotland can apply for projects supporting the development of their practice.
- You may apply for funding to work with others if your practice is collaborative.
- You must have a UK bank account.
- Funding for Organisations
- This fund is for organisations and groups based in Scotland whose work or project involves the arts, screen and creative industries.
- All applicants must have a UK bank account.
