The Department of State Embassy of the United States in Islamabad is seeking applications to University Partnership Countering Climate Change Grant Program.
The thematic area of this partnership is countering climate change, with a focus on adaptation and mitigation.
Project Goal
- This funding opportunity seeks to build greater academic and research capacity in climate change mitigation and adaption and to develop stronger U.S. – Pakistan educational ties.
- Moreover, this project should encourage research and other activities, such as strategic action plans, articles, policy papers, and other outreach, to combat the deleterious effects of climate change and engage stakeholders, serving as a driver of policy and action.
Project Objectives
- Program proposals may address but are not limited, to the development and implementation of faculty and student exchange programs, collaborative research, academic collaboration, virtual teaching exchanges, exchange/sharing of pedagogical resources and publications of mutual interest, professional development for faculty, and curriculum development and/or revision.
- Applicants are invited to discuss Pakistani university institutional goals that these activities would support. Proposals should explain in detail how project activities will enable participants to achieve specific research or strategic policy action at the cooperating institutions. Proposals should outline well-reasoned strategies designed to meet specific objectives at each participating U.S. and foreign department or institution.
- This Notice of Funding Opportunity does not support academic degree programs for faculty, staff, or students.
