The Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith, and Family (GOYFF) is inviting applications for the Parents Commission on Drug Education & Prevention Grant Program.

The Parents Commission’s mandate, established to “fund programs that will increase and  Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith, and Family enhance parental involvement and will increase education about the serious risks and public health problems caused by the abuse of alcohol and controlled substances.”

The commissioners are appointed by the Governor and consist of five parents of children currently enrolled in Arizona schools and one representative each from the education, probation, treatment and prevention, and law enforcement professions.

The grants invest in programs to improve community education about the serious risks and public health problems caused by the abuse of alcohol and controlled substances. Initiatives sponsored by the Parents Commission include: evidence-based programs, social media campaigns, trainings, social host ordinances, information fairs, information campaigns, victim impact panels, youth group meetings, speaker bureau presentations, and in-school programming.
