The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction(UNDRR) invites not profit-making organizations, notably academic institutions, to submit grant proposals that focus on the project Strengthening Disaster Risk Understanding, Management and Governance in the Caribbean Region.
- The duration of the proposed project and its activities cannot exceed six (6) months. The maximum amount requested from UNDRR for the implementation of this project cannot exceed 60,000 USD.
- The grant will be used to provide oversight and technical expertise to the development of the intended capacity building activities and reports, and conducting virtual consultations and scientific research.
- The grant is expected to entail staff time and developments on a learning platform of the grantee organization.
- UNDRR will support and provide inputs for the different outcomes and outputs of this grant.
- Projects’ activities can include, amongst others, the following:
- seminars, workshops, trainings;
- capacity building activities;
- institutional strengthening activities and
- advocacy
- Regular consultations
- Consultation webinar/meeting with partners
- Review on draft documents
- Scientific research
- Develop and strengthen existing capacities on comprehensive climate and disaster risk management of Caribbean policy makers and practitioners
- Develop and strengthen existing capacities on risk financing of Caribbean policy makers and practitioners
- Research on the realization of systemic risk in the Caribbean region
- Research on risk and early warning systems perception, notably of vulnerable groups and communities
- Report of the tailored and contextualized training on comprehensive climate and disaster risk management addressed to policy makers and practitioners
- Report of the tailored and contextualized training on risk financing addressed to policy makers and practitioners
- Report on the major findings concerning the realization of systemic risk in the Caribbean region, including the underlying factors, the building stressors, and the potential sudden and gradual tipping points that can create systemic failure in the region.
- Report on the major findings concerning risk and early warning systems perception, notably of vulnerable groups and communities
