The Moonee Valley City Council is pleased to announce the Responsive Community Grants to provide grants each month to individuals, community groups and businesses to support the overall health and wellbeing of the municipality.
Program Aims
- The Responsive Community Grants Program aims to:
- Improve the community’s quality of life and the liveability of Moonee Valley.
- Support Moonee Valley residents to access opportunities in the arts, education health, leisure and sports.
- Help the community to achieve the goals outlined in the long-term plans and strategies.
- Address community need with access to local opportunities.
- Foster and strengthen community involvement and participation in community-led initiatives.
- Support the social, cultural, economic, and environmental wellbeing of the local community.
Responsive Community Grant Streams
- Responsive Community Grants include the following streams:
- Individual Participation Grants: Supporting Moonee Valley residents experiencing financial hardship across arts, educational and leisure and sporting activities.
- Community Support Grants: Supporting small community projects situated within Moonee Valley such as start-ups and pilot programs, street greening and neighbourhood or community activations.
- Business Support Grants: Supporting local Moonee Valley businesses to achieve shopfront and external beautification projects such as exterior signage, outdoor dining improvements or accessibility and inclusion improvements.
Funding Information
- Individual Participation Grants: Up to $500 funding per application is available for eligible applicants.
- Community Support Grants: Up to $1,000 funding per application is available for eligible applicants.
- Business Support Grants: Up to $500 funding per application is available for eligible applicants.
Who is eligible?
- Individual Participation Grants:
- Residents of Moonee Valley who are experiencing financial hardship.
- Multiple members of the same family. Evidence of financial hardship must be supplied for each family member.
- Community Support Grants:
- Not-for-profit community groups and organisations that are:
- Incorporated community groups (unless you are establishing a new community group) or community groups that are supported by an auspice.
- Based and/or delivering services in the Moonee Valley municipality.
- Not-for-profit community groups and organisations that are:
- Business Support Grants:
- The following entities with an Australian Business Number (ABN), located and operating in the Moonee Valley municipality:
- Business and Sole Traders with less than 50 equivalent full-time staff.
- Trader Associations.
- Social Enterprises
- The following entities with an Australian Business Number (ABN), located and operating in the Moonee Valley municipality:
Who is not eligible?
- Individual Participation grant:
- Individuals who are located outside of the Moonee Valley municipality.
- Individuals who cannot provide evidence of current financial hardship in accordance with the acceptable documentation required.
- Schools and tertiary education organisations.
- Applicants who are abusive, aggressive, or intimidatory towards Council officers.
- Applicants that attempt to canvass or solicit Councillors or Council officers.
- Community Support Grants:
- Applicants with outstanding Community Grant acquittals, variations, debts or financial/legal disputes with the City of Moonee Valley Council.
- Applicants who have a Community Grant that is still in progress with the City of Moonee Valley Council.
- Applicants who have received a Community Grant with the City of Moonee Valley Council in the same financial year.
- Business Support Grants:
- Community groups.
- Not-for-profit organisations.
- Individuals.
- Businesses located outside of the Moonee Valley municipality.
- Applicants who are abusive, aggressive, or intimidatory towards Council officers.
- Applicants that attempt to canvass or solicit Councillors or Council officers.
- Applicants with outstanding Community Grant acquittals, variations, debts or financial/legal disputes with the City of Moonee Valley.
- Applicants who have an existing Community Grant that is still in progress.
