Rosa is pleased to open the fourth round of their grants programme entitled “Voices From The Frontline” to support women’s organisations to shine a light on their fight for gender equality in the UK.
The programme offers grants to support charitable campaigning work across Rosa’s four pillars:
- leadership and representation,
- safety,
- health and
- economic justice.
Aims
The programme aims to:
- Support campaigning, advocacy and activists working across any one of Rosa’s four pillars
- Amplify the voices of individual women at the Frontline of grassroots work in the UK
- Support work which can, long-term, tackle the underlying causes of a problem women face
- Nurture talent. Activism driven by inspiring, committed leaders can achieve remarkable results
Funding Information
Grants of between £500 to £5,000 are available.
Eligibility Criteria
- If applicants meet all of the following requirements, they can apply for a grant:
- Their organisation is non-profitable and run predominantly by, for and with women. They do not have to be a registered charity, but their activities must be charitable, legal and for the benefit of women. The foundation will review their organisation’s constitution, website and management committee in light of this.
- They have a written governing document, e.g. a constitution or set of rules
- They have a governing body with at least 3 unrelated members
- They have a UK-based bank or building society account in the name of their organization
- Their bank or building society account has at least 2 unrelated signatories
- They have been active for at least one year and can produce annual accounts for a whole year.
- Rosa particularly welcomes proposals from women’s organisations that:
- Address the critical needs of women and girls that miss out the most, including: marginalised populations, BME women, lesbian, bisexual or transgender women and girls, women and girls with disabilities, older women, homeless women, survivors of gender violence, women in prison and ex-offenders, and other underserved and disadvantaged groups of women.
- Operate in less economically resilient towns, cities and rural areas within the UK.
What sort of work will be supported?
Here are some examples of the types of costs the foundation covers:
- Contribution to staff costs or freelance fees to help run workshops with women with lived experience of injustice. Costs of hosting meetings or events, including facilitation costs.
- Presentation, media or lobbying training to support campaigning, advocacy or activism.
- Travel costs for meetings with power holders such as commissioners, local/national government or the media.
- The cost of producing materials such as posters, infographics or videos.
- Volunteer costs, including travel and childcare.
- Travel costs for a service user and member of staff to speak at an event or national conference.
