The Australian Embassy in Lao People’s Democratic Republic is pleased to announce the Small Grants Program to fund small value, low risk and high-impact development activities that explicitly support poverty reduction or sustainable development in Laos.
The objective of the Program is to support the Australian Government’s international policy goals in Laos promoting people-to-people links. The Program will consider funding a range of sectors – education, health, water and sanitation, environment protection, supporting people with disabilities, women’s empowerment and gender equality, economic livelihood, food security human rights, cultural, scientific and research.
Funding Information
- The maximum grant amount is AUD 50,000. There is no minimum grant amount.
- The maximum grant period is 12 months. Your activity must be completed within 12 months of starting the activity unless otherwise stated in the grant agreement.
- In most cases the grant will be paid in a single upfront payment and the activity must commence within two months of payment being made.
Eligibility Criteria
- Your application will not be considered if it does not meet all the eligibility criteria.
- To be eligible:
- applicant must be:
- not-for-profit individuals, or
- community groups, or
- non-government organisations (NGOs), or
- entities engaged in development activities in Lao PDR.
- program activities must be implemented fully in Laos.
- program activities must not be run by other governments or organisations.
- program activities must not present a high child protection risk (e.g., Orphanages or residential care services for minors or other vulnerable groups).
