The Australian Embassy in Ethiopia is seeking applications for its Direct Aid Program (Small Grants Program) 2023-24.
The program focuses on supporting local and community-based aid activities that deliver practical and tangible results for communities.
The DAP Small Grants Program 2023-24 is now inviting applications from organisations that support development outcomes in Ethiopia, South Sudan and Djibouti, think tanks that support the thematic priorities, as well as organisations that work with the African Union and Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
Priorities
- This year, the Australian Embassy’s thematic priorities for grant funding are for projects that will make a difference in one or more of the following areas:
- Disability inclusion
- Climate change, livelihood resilience and food security
- Human rights, conflict resolution and peacebuilding with a special focus on post-conflict education, youth empowerment and mental health
- Women’s empowerment and gender equality, with a focus on sexual and gender-based violence
- Preference will be given to projects that address more than one priority listed above.
Funding Information
- There is no minimum amount that a single project can receive but the maximum the Australian Embassy in Ethiopia will consider allocating is AUD40,000 (approximately USD28,000 or ETB1,400,000) over the life of the project. Activities may run up to a maximum of one year, however, projects of a shorter duration are welcome.
