The Solihull MBC in partnership with the Heart of England Community Foundation is seeking applications for its Wellbeing & Recovery Fund to support ideas and proposals which will contribute to the community response surrounding COVID-19 and the subsequent recovery.
Priorities
Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council has partnered with the Heart of England Community Foundation to help achieve two of its priorities:
- Enable communities to thrive – by supporting grassroots led and informed community activity
- Taking action to improve the life chances in their most disadvantaged communities – by focusing and directing community activity towards those people who can most benefit from it
Aims
Grants will be awarded to support local activity and services in Solihull which focus on one or more of the following:
- Social isolation and loneliness
- Food poverty
- Fuel poverty
- Physical health and wellbeing
- Mental health, wellbeing and emotional support
- Digital inclusion
- Supporting and promoting self-isolation
- Organisational resilience, core costs and sustainability
- Holiday food, activities and support for children, young people and families
- Holiday activities for the whole community
- Creating safer communities against Covid-19 which includes testing and key messages
Funding Information
- You can apply for up to £5,000
- Funds must be spent within 12 months of the award being granted
Geographical Focus
- The fund is for the benefit of the Solihull community
- Priority will be given to organisations based and delivering services in Solihull
- Priority will be given to projects which will support the community in Covid-19 high transmission areas • Organisations from outside of Solihull are welcome to apply but must have a track record of delivering services in Solihull. This will need to be clearly evidenced in the application form.
Eligibility Criteria
- You can apply to this fund if you are one of the following:
- Registered charities
- Constituted Community groups
- Companies Limited by Guarantee with charitable aims
- Community Interest Companies
- Co-operatives – registered Community Benefit Societies and registered Industrial and Provident Societies
- Social Enterprise
- Mutual aid
- Additionally, your organisation/company income level must be equal to or less than £500,000, as shown in your most recent annual accounts.
- They do not Fund:
- Individuals or sole traders
- Companies Limited by Shares
- Capital costs and builds
- Direct replacement of statutory obligation and public funding
- Promotion of religious or political activities
- Organisations or charities which are solely to promote any particular religion
- Groups with significant financial free reserves
- Retrospective grants
- Contribution to endowment fund, payment of deficit funding or repayment of loans
- National charities
- Overseas travel or expeditions
- Medical research and equipment for statutory or private healthcare
- General appeals
- Animal welfare, unless the project benefits people
- Statutory work in educational institutions
- Sponsored or fundraising events or groups raising funds to distribute to other causes
- Schools, Churches, Parish Councils or PTA’s unless community benefit is demonstrated
