The Soros-Moldova Foundation, in partnership with Keystone Moldova, APSCF and AOPD, implements the project “Better Social Services through a Sustainable Partnership between Civil Society and the Government” funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Soros Foundation-Moldova.
The project aims to empower local-level Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the country to promote and implement, in partnership with central and local public administrations, innovative and sustainable solutions for the social inclusion of people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities and of children in vulnerable groups.
In this respect, within the Project were signed grant agreements with 30 local-level civil society organizations that have proposed to develop or expand social services for people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities or children from vulnerable groups the needs identified at community level.
One of the objectives of the Project is to develop and implement a Joint Media Strategy to exchange experiences and disseminate positive social inclusion practices for people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities and children from vulnerable groups at national level. The implementation of media activities will contribute to preventing and combating discrimination against people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities and children from vulnerable groups, as well as to creating an inclusive environment at national level. Local CSOs will benefit from support in identifying, describing and promoting positive practices and solutions.
Activities
The local non-governmental organization, selected on the basis of a competition open and contracted through a grant agreement, will implement the following activities:
- Providing local CSOs technical assistance (North, Central and South regions of the RM) in implementing the Joint Media Strategy and disseminating positive social inclusion practices for people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities and children from vulnerable groups
- Periodic gathering of information on the activities carried out within the projects implemented by the local CSOs. The information gathered will be summarized and distributed monthly to all interested parties. The information will be drafted and distributed in Romanian and Russian.
- Distribute information gathered to all Grant-paying CSOs, AOPD and APSCF member organizations, LPA, and the social media.
- Develop and disseminate 10 narrative stories about positive practices of social inclusion of people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities and children from vulnerable groups. Narrative histories will be available in Romanian and Russian.
- Elaboration and distribution of 7 videos on positive practices of social inclusion of people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities and of children from vulnerable groups. The video will be available in Romanian and Russian.
Grant Information
- The amount requested will not exceed EUR 50,000 and will be in line with the activities proposed for implementation and the project implementation period.
- Project implementation period: 1 July 2019 – 30 December 2020.
Eligibility Requirements
- In order to be eligible participants, requesting organizations must:
- to be non-profit (non-commercial) organizations registered in the Republic of Moldova.
- to be civil society organizations at local level, eg: public associations, foundations, community organizations.
- to be organizations operating outside the city of Chisinau.
- to be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the project without acting as an intermediary. Sub-grant is not supported.
- have at least two years of experience in implementing media activities.
- to have qualified experts in the field of video production. Experts involved in the project will have at least 3 years experience in the field of video production.
- to have qualified experts in the development of narrative information materials.
- Other requirements for participants in the contest:
- The people involved in the project will have at least one year experience in developing narrative information materials.
- The project team will be made up of staff experts who know the Romanian and Russian languages.
- The project team will have the necessary equipment for video production.
