The South East Water has announced the applications for the Community Grants Program.
The grants were initially funded by a promise they made in their Five-Year Customer Commitment 2018–23 to support local communities impacted by sewer spills. This year they’re opening their grants program to even more community groups within their service region – whether your group has been impacted by a sewer spill or not.

What they’ll fund?
Eligible community or charitable organisations can apply for grants of between $500 and $10,000 to fund:
- Capital works
- Events
- Recreational/environmental programs
- Equipment to enable community initiatives
Eligibility Criteria
In 2022, their Community Grants program is open to eligible community or charitable organisations in their service area who:
- Support the health and liveability of Port Phillip Bay and Western Port – and areas nearby like beaches, creeks and wetlands.
- Have been impacted by a sewer spill.
- Support the community in the areas of:
- Affordability
- Environment
- Health and liveability
- Water security and literacy.
- To be eligible to apply, your project or initiative needs to:
- be located within the service area or provide services in theservice area, or support another community group delivering services within the service area; and deliver services that positively supports the local community within one or more of the following community pillars: affordability; health and liveability; environment; water security.
