The Russell Sage Foundation is accepting applications for a program entitled “The Social, Economic, and Political Effects of the Affordable Care Act” to increase access to health insurance, enhance the quality of care and moderate the growth in costs.
RSF is especially interested in funding analyses that address the extent to which the ACA has affected outcomes such as financial security and family economic wellbeing, labor supply and demand, family and children’s outcomes, and participation in other social safety net programs.
Priority Areas
Examples of the kinds of topics and questions that are of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Financial Security and Family Economic Well-Being
- Labor Market Outcomes
- Public Program Participation
- Family and Children’s Outcomes
- Immigrant Outcomes
- Effects on Politics, Political Culture, and Public Policy
- Outcomes for Underserved Groups
Eligibility Criteria
- All applicants (both PIs and Co-PIs) must have a doctorate. In rare circumstances, RSF may consider applications from scholars who do not hold a doctorate but can demonstrate a strong career background that establishes their ability to conduct high-level, peer-reviewed scholarly research. Students may not be applicants.
- RSF particularly encourages early career scholars to apply for Presidential grants. All nationalities are eligible to apply and applicants do not have to reside in the U.S., but the focus of the proposed research project must be on the U.S. as per their mission.
