Worldwide Cancer Research is seeking applications for its grant program to support research that might in future help reduce the incidence of cancer or improve cancer survival.
Worldwide Cancer Research awards grants to support fundamental or translational research into the causes, mechanisms, diagnosis, treatment or prevention of cancer. This remit is usually interpreted conservatively.
Funding Information
The maximum budget allowed is £250,000, but it should be noted that most of the three-year grants they award have a budget below £200,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Their project grants are awarded to a single researcher, known as the Principal Investigator (PI) or Grantholder. The PI is the person with the main responsibility for writing the application, and designing and directing the research project. The PI is also responsible for ensuring all requirements in this handbook and in their grant terms and conditions are complied with.
- The PI must be employed at a recognised, non-profit research institution anywhere in the world. Honorary contracts and emeritus positions are usually acceptable.
- Check that your institution will accept their grant terms and conditions in the application handbook before submitting an application. These are not variable or negotiable unless they conflict with the law in your country.
- Ineligible: Worldwide Cancer Research does not support clinical research, including clinical trials, patient care, nursing or healthcare delivery research. They also do not support other types of applied cancer research such as policy, public health or psychosocial research.
