The Corra Foundation is pleased to announce the Way Forward for Families Partnership Funding Programme.
The Way Forward for Families Partnership funding programme opens following a review and re-design of the Partnership Drugs Initiative. This fund is delivered in partnership with Corra Foundation and Scottish Government. It will continue to focus on improving the lives and outcomes for children, young people and families in Scotland who are affected by drugs and alcohol.
The fund is open to partnerships of third sector and statutory organisations. It will support collaborative work that involves children, young people and families in the design, development, delivery and improvement of projects.
Funding Information
- Partnerships can apply for up to £250,000 over a three-year period.

Who can apply?
- The fund is open to partnerships comprised of statutory services, charities, social enterprises, community groups and other voluntary organisations. The organisation that will hold the funds must be registered with OSCR, have independent governance and an asset lock.
- A lead third sector partner should be identified as the main grant holder. This organisation will receive and distribute the money within partnerships. The lead organisation will be responsible for ensuring appropriate policies and procedures are in place for the operation, administration and management of any funds received.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications must be in a partnership involving both the public sector and the third sector.
- The lead applicant must be a charity registered in Scotland.
- The lead applicant must be the recipient and legally accountable for any grant received through this fund.
- Whilst the lead applicant will be legally responsible for receiving and managing the grant funding, funds may be shared among multiple local partners in order to deliver the work. This means that funds may be used to commission/purchase services from other partners involved in the work.
- All applications must ensure that the views and experiences of children, young people and families are at the core of the approach.
- Only one note of interest per Local Authority area will be accepted.
- All applicants must be based in and provide services in areas where alcohol and other drug use are prevalent. For example, they know that people are 16 times more likely to die of a drug related death if they live in an area with high levels of poverty.
- Applications must be approved by both a Chief Officer or Director, either of the Health and Social Care Partnership, Children’s Services or Alcohol and Drugs Partnership (ADP), and a senior representative of the third sector partner, all of whom will sign a Memorandum of Understanding or Partnership Agreement.
Ineligible
- Work that will not deliver direct support to children, young people and families affected by alcohol or drug use.
- Major capital appeals including building projects, vehicles and major refurbishment costs.
- Retrospective funding – paying for something that has already been purchased/delivered.
- Contributions to funds which will be used for grant making to other organisations.
- Funding from Corra’s Partnership Drugs Initiative (PDI) cannot be used as match funding for this funding stream.
- Work delivered out with Scotland.
