The Office of Public Affairs (OPA) at the U.S. Embassy Lisbon has announced its Alumni Small Grants Program for 2017 to support Alumni-led outreach initiatives. Proposals for 2017 should focus on Youth.
Focus Areas
Successful project(s) will focus on:
- Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM);
- Innovation;
- Entrepreneurship;
- Common Vulnerabilities Exposure (CVE); or
- Victim Assistance.
Projects targeting at-risk Portuguese youth including those at risk of radicalization or criminalization; or youth that have been marginalized by society will receive priority. Initiatives may include:
- soft-skills training to youth;
- leadership seminars;
- study trips;
- speaker programs and promoting English language learning; or
- other innovative engagement ideas.
Funding Information
Project proposals should be between $500.00 USD to $4,000.00 USD.
Eligibility Criteria
U.S. Government sponsored International Exchange Program Alumni.
Key Requirements
- Initiatives must include alumni using their exchange experiences in the United States to engage with/inform/support, etc. Portuguese youth.
- Project must be completed within one year after receiving the funding.
- Photographs and videos of project related activities must be regularly shared with Post to highlight the project on our digital media platforms.
- A written report must be submitted 30 days after completion of the project.
