Herman H. Rose Civic, Cultural and Media Access Fund Grants Program in the US

Deadline: 30 April 2018

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) is inviting applications for “Provision of Services related to Enhancing the Capacities of Media Professionals for Reporting on Gender-Based Violence in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

The purpose of the consultancy is to continue the work of UN Women has done so far on strengthening the capacities of media professionals and create experts in gender sensitive reporting of gender-based violence (GBV) cases by working with media professionals, media outlets and professors of journalism. The activities should focus on developing a higher sensitivity to gender-based violence as a socio-cultural phenomenon, rather than a sensationalistic one-off story.

The overall approach should aim to mainstream the Guidelines on reporting in cases of gender-based violence and utilize the corresponding training methodology developed under the UN Women Ending Violence Against Women program.
