The UN Women Multi-Country Office (MCO) Caribbean, is seeking to partner with Civil Society Organization(s) to establish a CSO network for social justice activism to promote demand-driven quality service access and delivery.
The provision of mentoring and support in social activism and the establishment of a CSO network are expected to contribute to women’s rights groups, autonomous social movements and relevant CSOs, including those representing youth and groups facing multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination/marginalization, being able to more effectively influence and advance progress on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (GEWE) and ending violence against women and girls (VAWG).
The output and associated output indicators under this interventions are as follows:
- Women’s rights groups and relevant CSOs representing groups facing multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination/marginalization have strengthened capacities and support to design, implement and monitor their programmes on ending violence against women and girls (VAWG), including domestic violence/intimate partner violence (DV/IPV).
- Number of women’s rights groups and relevant Civil Society Organizations s representing groups facing multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination/marginalization that have strengthened capacities and support to design, implement, monitor and evaluate their programmes on ending violence against women and girls (VAWG).
The resources being made available under the Spotlight Project for CSOs are as follows:
- Establish a CSO network for social justice activism to promote demand-driven quality service access and delivery. The two CSOs selected will be required to work in partnership.
For all workshops, training and activities involving direct beneficiaries, Implementing Partners must produce:
- Event Report
- Participant Register
- Participant Feedback Form (in draft, will be piloted and shared)
- Pictures — group and interactive (including participants & presenters)
- Media Release Form required for programme participants e.g. children, direct beneficiaries (survivors or vulnerable groups)
- Audience engagement data (in the case of media campaigns initiated for Spotlight)
- 2 CSOs Grants: US 25,000 equivalent each.
- The expected duration of this partnership is from June 25, 2021— December 31, 2021.
Countries to be covered: Guyana
- Technical/functional competencies required:
- Implementing Partners must be a registered Civil Society Organization. Please note that only not-for-profit entities will be considered.
- Knowledge of the referral pathways which may exist, service providers, and support services related to GBV in Guyana.
- At least 3 years’ experience implementing initiatives on gender equality and women’s rights, including the elimination of violence against women.
- At least 3 years’ experience in movement building and activism related to GBV.
- At least 3 years’ experience working in Guyana.
- Other competencies, which while not required, can be an asset for the performance of services:
- Previous experience working on United Nations-funded projects.
