The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is accepting proposals to conduct Outreach and Civic Education Activities to Internally Displaced Persons, Returnees and Women to strengthen national institutions, platforms and processes to support credible, peaceful and inclusive electoral processes in South Sudan that establish legitimate representative institutions.
Objectives
- In line with its mandate to provide the technical assistance, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) aims to support the National Elections Commission (NEC) of South Sudan in all aspects of electoral preparation including Civic and Voter Education. To this end, UNDP seeks to collaborate with civil society organizations (CSO) in Western Bahr-El-Ghazal, Northern Bahr-El-Ghazal and Upper Nile to help empower internally displaced persons (IDPs) and returnees, including 50% women by informing them of their democratic rights and increase awareness and participation in political processes.
- The selected CSOs will contribute to the NEC’s efforts to conduct awareness and sensitization campaigns targeting the population in the identified regions, Western Bahr-El-Ghazal, Northern Bahr-El-Ghazal and Upper Nile State.
- This call for proposal aims to identify organizations, including CSOs women and youth groups, with established operational presence and proven capacities to implement activities that advance these objectives in Northern Bahr El Ghazal, Western Bahr El Ghazal, Upper Nile State.

Duration
- The project duration will be for a period of 3 months.
Geographical Focus
- The project activities will be implemented over a period of three (3) months during the period from 15 December 2024 to 20 March 2025 in in Northern Bahr El Ghazal, Western Bahr El Ghazal and Upper Nile State South Sudan, specifically in areas with communities of internally displaced persons (IDP)s and returnees.
Specific Outputs, Activities and Deliverables
- Slot 1: Conduct Outreach and Civic Education Activities to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Returnees and Women in Northern Bahr El Ghazal
- Slot 2: Conduct Outreach and Civic Education Activities to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and Returnees and Women in Western Bahr El Ghazal

Eligibility Criteria
- The organizations must meet the following criteria to be eligible for selection:
- Be legally registered as CSO/NGO with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission and be in possession of a valid registration certificate;
- Mandate and founding document should be in line with the activities for which the fund is being sought;
- Have an established office with qualified staff in the area/location of proposed intervention; and
- The CSO/NGO must have experience in similar/related areas of intervention.
