UNDP: Projects to Local Associations Lead by Women of the Pilot in Algeria

UNDP is calling for proposals for Projects to Local Associations Lead by Women of the Pilot in Algeria to support the employment of young people and particularly that of women with the National Agency of Microcredit Management (ANGEM).

In line with these actions for the promotion of youth employment, the objective of this project ” The Social Economy at the service of the economic inclusion of young people and Social innovation “consists to contribute to the sustainable development of SSE actors in the pilot wilayas of Algeria, by offering alternatives to young people in order to facilitate their social and economic integration through capacity building of key players in the promotion of employment and SSE for guidance and more suitable advice.

Objectives

In order to achieve the general objective of the project “The Social Economy at the service of inclusion youth economy and Social innovation ”sets up a process which has the effect of:
- Strengthen the skills of support structures for the creation of microenterprises and very small social enterprises (Cap jeunesse platforms, entrepreneurship houses, business incubators and facilitation centers);
- Participate in improving the environment allowing the development of SSE and the emergence of successful social entrepreneurs;
- Raise awareness among project stakeholders of the importance of SSE as a creative sector wealth and jobs;
- Strengthen the autonomy of young people and women through enhanced support in their entrepreneurial projects;
- Allow an increase in the number of women creators of social enterprises and thus aim to reduce the gap between men and women in access to sustainable employment.
Initially, this call has the overall objective of supporting, at the level of the wilayas of Béchar, Naâma, Oran and Khenchela, associative initiatives aimed at strengthening the autonomy of young people and in particular for women through enhanced support in their projects.
This call aims to design and finance pilot associative opportunities for women and young people in the agriculture, ecotourism and dairy sectors

Priority Areas

The associations will benefit from financial and technical support for their initiatives in the sectors following priorities:

Ecotourism in Bechar: The wilaya of Bechar has significant potential for local crafts and tourism that can generate jobs and income to meet the expectations of some young people in the wilaya. The services and tourism sector of the wilaya has very strong potential for sustainable development large, the launch of economic, social and solidarity initiatives in this sector is therefore a priority.
Alternative products and derivatives of breeding in Naâma: The wilaya of Naâma has the potential to revive the local economy through the support of the development of dairy, wool and skin value chains. The wilaya has a number large number of head of cattle Alternative livestock products (milk, wool, fertilizer and skin) which are not used.
PAM aromatic and medicinal plants and apple in Khenchela: The wilaya of Khenchela has potential in terms of economic activities linked to the economy social sector and a primary sector with high potential, mainly agriculture.
Peri and intra-urban agriculture in Oran: The wilaya of Oran has a very large useful agricultural area divided into small areas in the area peri-urban and sometimes even in intra-urban areas, which represents a great potential for agricultural development.

Funding Information

Minimal overall cost of the project: 1,300,000 DZD
Maximum overall cost of the project: 1,900,000 DZD
This cost depends on the participation rate of association with the co-financing of the project: 2,300,000 DZD
Project execution time: Minimum 5 months and maximum 08 months

Eligibility Criteria

This call is open to:
- Local associations of wilaya and / or commune of pilot wilayas Bechar, Naama, Khenchela and Oran hereinafter referred to as “the applicant”,
The applicant must meet the conditions below:
- Be Approved under Law 12-06 (or brought into conformity), for three (03) years at minimum;
- Have 03 years of experience in the effective management of projects / activities, with an envelope of less 700,000 DZD per year.
- Be domiciled and / or be active in the target territory of the project in one of the four wilayas pilots;
- Have factual experience in the management of development projects;
- Be an active association in one of the fields / sectors related to the topic dealt with in the proposal;
- Be directly responsible for the preparation, development and management of the project. Any applicant intermediary is not eligible;
- Demonstrate sufficient management capacities to manage the budget allocated to the project;
- Have no legal problem, no illegal activity and not be in cessation of activity
