Deadline: 6-Mar-23
The UNESCO programme Transcultura: Integrating Cuba, the Caribbean and the European Union through Culture and Creativity, funded by the European Union, has launched a call for applications to enrol in the free online course ‘Grant Proposal Writing | ACP-EU Grants for Arts & Culture’.
The overall purpose of the Programme is to deepen cultural integration in the Caribbean and strengthen people-to-people cooperation and exchange in the region and with the European Union. One of the main outputs focuses on building capacity for the development of new cultural projects, self-employment and start-up/scaling up activities. In this context, beneficiaries will be provided with training on preparing effective project proposals for applications to international grants and sub-granting mechanisms.
What is this course, and why should you participate?
- The “Grant Proposal Writing Course | ACP-EU Grants for Arts & Culture” is a free online training course for young artists, creatives, cultural professionals and entrepreneurs within the creative and cultural industries. The training will support grantees to apply to the upcoming grant round launched by Creative Caribbean in 2023. The knowledge and skills gained during the course will enable participants to apply to this sub-granting mechanism and secure funds that will support their cultural and creative projects.
What will the course cover?
- Over a four week period, participants will take part in a ‘bootcamp’ style training course, with three guided learning sessions each week. Expert trainers will help participants to understand the funding requirements and support participants to shape their ideas to the funder’s needs. As well as guided learning sessions, regular Q&As and small group coaching with expert fundraisers will support participants to apply the learning immediately, as well as draft and shape their potential funding applications to the Creative Caribbean grant schemes.
- Topics will include:
- Detailed information about the ACP-EU Grants for culture programme, which is administered by Creative Caribbean in the Caribbean region
- Eligibility criteria, and overcoming eligibility challenges in order to apply successfully to the grants programme
- A detailed overview of the Creative Caribbean schemes and sub-strands that applicants can apply to to fund projects and initiatives
- A thorough overview of the application form, looking at model answers, and specific sessions focussing on each application form question
- Question and Answer sessions, and coaching sessions in smaller groups, for each area of the course
- The course will be led by Adapt for Arts, a UK-based consultancy specialising in supporting the development of creative and cultural organisations, as well as guest tutors and contributors from Europe, the Caribbean and Central America.
