The Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) is seeking applications for 2020 Transitional Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking (Transitional Housing Program) that supports programs that provide 6-24 months of transitional housing with support services for victims who are homeless or in need of transitional housing as a result of a situation of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault or stalking; and for whom emergency shelter services or other crisis intervention services are unavailable or insufficient.
Priority Areas
- Empower victims to become survivors by growing them past their vulnerabilities to a place of self-sufficiency.
- Address the specific challenges that rural communities face in responding to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

- Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
- City or township governments
- Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- State governments
- County governments
