The Unitywater is pleased to launch Community Grants to support local groups that help keep the community healthy.
Through their community grants, they support social and environmental causes by assisting groups who make a real impact to the communities in which they all live.
Their grants have been designed to assist grassroot community groups to deliver positive outcomes in the Moreton Bay, Noosa and Sunshine Coast regions.
Focus Areas
Unitywater focuses on five pillars they know are important to keeping their communities healthy:
- Homelessness
- Prevention of domestic and family violence
- Children and youth
- Mental health
- Environment.
Principles
Their guiding principles help them select the groups they work with. These principles are the foundation of their grants program, ensuring they achieve the best outcomes for everyone through their funding. Applications should demonstrate their initiative has strength in the following areas:
- Impact – The initiative will have measurable positive impacts on the community or environment and align with the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Competency – The initiative will be delivered in a safe environment with appropriate insurances in place.
- Need – The initiative will support a need that is not currently addressed within the community.
Funding Information
- Grant funding of up to $5,000
Eligibility Criteria
Community groups will need to meet the following criteria to be considered for a grant:
- The group must operate within the Moreton Bay, Noosa or Sunshine Coast regions, or can demonstrate that their initiative directly supports the residents of these regions.

The initiative is:
- Not fully funded by another organisation or government agency
- Meeting a community need within Unitywater’s five pillars (see ‘causes they support’ section above)
- Covered by appropriate insurances for undertaking the initiative or activity.
Ineligibility
- Government agencies or departments.
- Individuals.
- Fully funded entities or groups.
