The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications from qualified U.S. or non-U.S. organization to fund an activity entitled “Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) Activity” with an aim to generate demand for and increase the use of high quality maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health (MNCAH), family planning (FP), nutrition, and tuberculosis (TB) services in Bangladesh through the use of social and behavior change communication (SBCC).
The goal of this SBCC Activity is to increase health care seeking and adoption of healthy behaviors.
Objectives
- Increase exposure to and coverage of quality SBCC on key health behaviors, services, and health products, with a focus on Chittagong and Sylhet Divisions, and
- Strengthen the Government of Bangladesh Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s (MoHFW) ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate social and behavior change communication at the central level and in Chittagong and Sylhet Divisions.
Funding Information
- Subject to funding availability, USAID intends to provide up to $15,000,000 in total funding over a five year period.
- The period of performance anticipated herein is five (5) years, beginning on the effective date of the award.
Expected Outcomes
- Exposure to high quality information on healthy behaviors, services and products in Chittagong and Sylhet Divisions and other populations targeted by USAID programs increased.
- MoHFW SBCC capacity and systems at central level and in Chittagong and Sylhet Divisions strengthened.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants may be non-governmental U.S. and non U.S. entities and individuals.
- Entities such as non-profit organizations, profit making businesses, Private Voluntary Organizations (PVOs), Public International Organizations (PIOs), faith-based and community organizations, educational institutions, etc. are eligible to apply.
- USAID/Bangladesh encourages applications from potential new implementing partners.
How to Apply
There will be two phases to the application process.
- Phase 1 is a written application. All applications must be in English.
- Phase 2 will be oral presentations of the qualified applicants.
From the first phase, the best technically acceptable applicants, up to three to five, will be invited to present their applications orally in person at USAID/Bangladesh.
