The United States Government (USG), as represented by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Bureau for Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA), Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), is seeking applications from eligible organisations to fund an initiative called “Next Generation of Humanitarian Leaders” with an aim to broaden engagement in the humanitarian response community by expanding academic instruction and professional development training available to community-based, national and/or international NGOs on humanitarian policies and practice.
USAID/OFDA’s primary objective will be to improve humanitarian response by increasing the cadre of humanitarian professionals and experts.
Funding Information
- USAID/OFDA anticipates that up to approximately US $4 million will be available to support the program(s) or activity (ies) and final funding levels will depend on the content, quality, number of applications received, needs, availability of funding, and competing priorities.
- USAID/OFDA will not consider any applications above a maximum amount of $1 million per application during the next two years.
Eligibility Criteria
- U.S. and Non-U.S. Non-Profit Organizations: Qualified U.S. and non-U.S. non-profit organizations may apply for OFDA funding under this APS.
- U.S. and Non-U.S. For-Profit Organizations: Qualified U.S. and non-U.S. for-profit organizations may apply for OFDA funding under this APS.
- U.S. and Non-U.S. Colleges and Universities: Qualified U.S. and non-U.S. colleges and universities may apply for OFDA funding under this APS.
- UN Agencies: U.N. agencies may apply for USAID/OFDA funding under this APS
- Other USG Agencies: USG departments and agencies may not apply for USAID/OFDA funding under this APS.
- New Partners: Partners new to USAID may submit applications.
