The Women’s Fund in Georgia announces the grant program ” Women’s Rights and Climate Justice “, which is financially supported by the Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action (GAGGA).
The grant program aims to encourage women’s NGOs and informal women’s groups working on social and climate justice to focus their efforts on women’s management of natural resources, responding to social and environmental challenges, be it climate change, biodiversity, environmental pollution, chemical safety, waste management, food justice, extractivism, women’s right to a safe, clean and healthy environment, etc.
The Women’s Fund in Georgia encourages initiatives that, on the one hand, respond to social and environmental challenges, and on the other hand, cultivate values and visions that confront the environmental damage caused by capitalist and patriarchal systems and encourage a new relationship with the Earth.
Focus Topics
- Possible project topics:
- Building the capacity of women’s organizations and groups working in the field of climate justice;
- Organizing joint initiatives of women’s groups and organizations around environmental justice;
- Strengthening the environmental and women’s movement as a whole;
- Supporting green and feminist activist spaces (creating new spaces and/or strengthening existing ones);
- Research on the relationship between environmental justice and women’s issues;
- Advocacy, planning and organizing strategic campaigns
Funding Information
- The grant amount is from 8,000 to 10,000 euros equivalent in GEL. The duration of the projects is from 6 to 8 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Women’s Fund will support the following projects within the framework of the program:
- Which are implemented by women
- Which are direct and ultimate beneficiaries of women
- The Women’s Fund will prioritize initiatives of organizations operating in the regions of Georgia, as well as coalition projects of environmental and women’s organizations.
