Deadline: 14-Jan-2026
The Emergence Magazine is pleased to announce its Seeds of Radical Renewal Fellowship Program to create an incubator of emerging leadership and creativity with an approach based on integrating the ontology of spiritual ecology, the adaptive leadership framework, and the power of art and story to create alchemical spaces of regeneration and renewal.
The fellowship centers on nurturing relational and adaptive leadership that embraces diverse perspectives to address systemic challenges. It integrates the principles of spiritual ecology to resolve real-world and organizational conflicts while emphasizing the transformative role of art and storytelling in fostering renewal and a deeper bond with the Earth.
Participants will cultivate embodied spiritual practices, expand their capacity to listen to and learn from the more-than-human world, and apply their insights to tangible projects supported by post-fellowship mentorship.
The program includes an online and an in-person component, each designed to help participants engage deeply with the principles of spiritual ecology. The online segment consists of six two-hour sessions covering an introduction to the program and spiritual ecology, core teachings of adaptive leadership, more-than-human ways of being and intelligences and the power of story to create alchemical spaces of regeneration and renewal.
The five-day in-person retreat will take place at the Sharpham Trust in the United Kingdom, where fellows will participate in lectures, presentations, group discussions, nature immersion, storytelling workshops and mentorship sessions. The retreat will emphasize embodied practices, adaptive leadership and the application of fellowship learnings to real-world contexts.
Following the retreat, participants will join two online mentorship sessions in September to continue developing their projects and applying fellowship insights. Selected fellows will receive a full scholarship that covers tuition, single-room accommodation, meals, and travel to the Sharpham Trust in the UK. However, visa expenses are not included.
Applicants must attend all online and in-person sessions and be eligible to obtain a visa to travel to the United Kingdom, as Emergence cannot procure or sponsor visas. Fellows are expected to dedicate an average of six hours per week from April to September for live sessions, assignments, readings, and practices before and after the retreat.
The fellowship is open to creatives, innovators, designers, artists, writers, media makers, scientists, ecologists, technologists, educators, systems thinkers, and changemakers interested in working at the intersection of ecology, culture, and spirituality. It primarily targets individuals at early or mid stages of their careers who seek to bring the values of spiritual ecology into their professional work and communities.
Applications are open until January 14, 2026, at 11:59 pm (PST), with space limited to 25 participants. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview, and final results will be announced by February 20, 2026.
