The Media-K project Internews announces a competition of ideas to create platforms where working and novice journalists can meet in an atmosphere of cooperation and discuss pressing issues in the field of journalism, as well as share knowledge, support and promote various initiatives to improve professional journalism at the regional level.
In 2023, the Internews Media-K project in the Kyrgyz Republic will continue to support the development of regional journalism, holding events in the regions to unite local journalists and improve their professionalism.
Terms of the program: The program to support regional Kyrgyz-language journalism is designed for five years. This competition accepts applications for the period from February to August 2023.
Who can participate?
- The competition is open to journalists from the regions of Kyrgyzstan who are able to:
- generate ideas;
- promote proposals for improving the quality of content at the level of their regions;
- unite journalists of different ages;
- promote the consolidation of journalists.
- Applicants must demonstrate:
- sufficient motivation to unite journalists in the region;
- the ability and willingness to spend personal time on initiating, organizing and conducting discussions, debates;
- willingness to organize and hold at least six informal meetings: discussion , practical, adaptable and change-oriented
- willingness to create and, in the future, develop an informal network of professional journalists in the region.
