Project Goal & Objectives

Goal: Create a professional, resilient press corps that provides Pakistani citizens with information they need to make informed decisions about their lives, their communities, and public institutions.

  • Objective 1: Participants gain practical knowledge and experience in the field of journalism.
  • Objective 2: Participants share what they learned during program activities with other journalists in their program and/or workplace.
  • Objective 3: Journalism education opportunities are available to minority and underprivileged students.

  • Anticipated Award Amount: The award floor is $300,000; the award ceiling is $370,000.
  • Duration of Award: The project should be a minimum of two (2) years, and not exceed of a period of performance of three (3) years.

Eligible Applicants

  • Submissions are encouraged from U.S. and Pakistani registered not-for-profit, civil society / non-governmental organizations, and educational institutions.
  • Applicants are expected to document prior programming experience if selected under this NOFO, and a copy of the organization’s registration must accompany the proposal.
  • U.S.-based non-profit organizations must provide a copy of their IRS determination letter.
  • Pakistan-based non-profit organizations must submit a copy of their certificate of registration from the appropriate government organization.
  • Cost Sharing: Cost sharing or matching is not required for this funding opportunity.
