Applicants are invited for Cinema and Human Rights Festival that is organized by volunteers of Amnesty International Paris, with the support of Amnesty International France. It aims to promote films on human rights, including organizing a competition of short films on the theme.

Founded in 1961, Amnesty International is a global and independent movement of 3 million people who work for the respect, protection and promotion of all rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948. Amnesty International received the Nobel peace Prize in 1977. Amnesty International France (AIF) was established in 1971. Its funding is based on public donations (more than 240,000 donors), sales support products and membership fees (over 18,000). AIF is approved by the Committee of the Charter of the gift in trust.

The festival seeks to focus on films about human rights. The films may for example be within the non-exhaustive list of the following themes:
