Deadline: 15-Aug-2025
The Office for Victims of Crime is accepting applications to support VOCA Victim Compensation programs across the United States. These programs play a critical role in providing financial relief to hundreds of thousands of crime victims each year.
The goal of this funding is to help states and territories supplement their efforts to offer compensation to crime victims. The support is intended to assist in the recovery and restoration of individuals affected by criminal violence. Funds can be used for a variety of expenses, including medical costs, lost income, funeral expenses, childcare, relocation, and other crime-related costs.
The program aims to strengthen state and territorial victim compensation efforts and to reimburse victims for expenses resulting from their victimization. It provides essential backing to ensure that victims of crime receive the financial support needed to rebuild their lives.
A total of $178,983,000 is available under this funding opportunity. These funds will be distributed to eligible entities that meet the requirements.
Certain activities will not be funded under this program. These include any that violate or promote violations of federal immigration law or hinder its enforcement, such as failing to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Additionally, any activities that violate federal civil rights or nondiscrimination laws, including those that unlawfully favor or disfavor groups based on race or protected status, are ineligible.
Only specific government entities are eligible to apply. These include state governments and their agencies in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
