Two NGOs- Japan Mine Action Service (JMAS) and World Vision Japan has received over $1 million assistance from the government of Japan. Japanese Ambassador Hidehisa Horinouchi signed the contracts on Friday endowing the NGOs with a total of $1,131,547.
JMAS receives $676,019 to JMAS for its comprehensive program, Mechanical Demining in Kampong Thom, and World Vision Japan gets $455,528 to help improve child and maternal health in Takeo province.
Mr Hidehisa said, “JMAS will pass its techniques on to the Cambodian Mine Action Centre; and World Vision Japan will improve rural clean water supply systems, and hygiene at health centres.
He applauded the NGOs on their previous work, and is confident that the newly granted funds will be a boon in their venture to improve the living conditions of Cambodians.
