Deadline: 25 October 2016
The Swedish Institute Alexandria and Fryshuset are seeking young people from different cultural and professional backgrounds in the MENA region and Sweden in the age of 18 – 29 with interest in the area of social innovation, multiculturalism and peace building.
The aim of the workshop is to discuss and deconstruct conflict in society through a future-focused dialogue-based method. The participants identified and co-created new approaches on how religious and cultural diversity can counter rather than increase social and political tensions.
On 20-22 November 2016, young people from various cultural and professional backgrounds from the Middle East together with young leaders from Sweden will be given the opportunity to meet in Alexandria to jointly articulate their experiences and present ways on countering polarization. The results of the workshops will be submitted to the UN Special Envoy for Youth at a meeting in December 2016 in Alexandria.
