The Ukrainian Women’s Fund announces the grant competition “Assistance in the implementation of regional action plans 1325” for women’s/feminist organizations from Zakarpattia, Luhansk, Lviv, Kharkiv and Khmelnytskyi regions.
About the Project
The project “Women, peace, security: local needs – local solutions” is aimed at supporting the implementation of the agenda of women, peace, security in Ukraine and localization of the national action plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women. Peace. Security” (resolution 1325) in five regions – Zakarpattia, Luhansk, Lviv, Kharkiv and Khmelnytskyi.
Within the framework of the project, representatives of public organizations, local authorities, the security and defense sector, and the media cooperate to identify and implement concrete solutions to the security challenges faced by women and girls at the local level, and to effectively implement regional action plans for the implementation of Resolution 1325 taking into account the needs of the population of a specific region. The project is implemented by the Ukrainian Women’s Fund with the financial support of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

- The maximum amount of the grant is 15,000 Euros
- Duration of the project: 12 months
Eligibility Criteria
- They invite officially registered women’s/feminist public organizations that:
- are members of regional coalitions 1325 from Zakarpattia, Luhansk, Lviv, Kharkiv and Khmelnytskyi regions and participate in the competition on behalf of the coalition
- undertake to coordinate their actions within the framework of the project with the coalition secretariat
- have experience in the implementation of grant projects and successful financial management and reporting (such organizations will be given preference during the consideration of grant applications)
- have an accountant with experience in preparing financial reports in grant projects
- not connected with state institutions and political parties
- The UZHF defines as women’s organizations the purpose of which (according to the charter) is to protect women’s rights and/or promote gender equality. Professional women’s associations are not considered women’s organizations unless they demonstrate that they adhere to feminist principles and, in addition to providing services to women, empower women.
As part of the Competition, the following will not be supported
- providing incentives to civil servants
- support of political parties
- initiatives aimed at supporting professional associations of women (such as entrepreneurs, teachers) and are not feminist
- initiatives that harm the environment
Ineligible expenses
Construction and purchase of equipment/assets in the amount of more than 1,000 Euro.
