The Open Society Fund, Prague is currently inviting organisations for bilateral funds for a programme entitled “Mainstreaming Gender Equality and Promoting Work-Life Balance/Domestic and Gender-based violence” to support projects focusing on equal opportunities for women and men in both their professional and personal lives, on the prevention of domestic violence and to helping its victims in the Czech Republic. The program is open for applications under the Let’s Give (Wo)men a Chance programme by Open Society Fund.
The Fund aims at developing and fostering cooperation, sharing and transfer of knowledge, technologies, experience and good practice. It will also provide a means for cooperation between Czech and Norwegian organisations and the sharing of Norwegian experience. It also aims to support the development of services for persons endangered by domestic violence and at the prevention or reduction of this phenomenon.
Focus Areas
- Introduction of flexible working arrangements, provision of childcare services for the age group 0-6
- Gender analyses of public policies
- Raising awareness on gender issues and research in this area
- Strengthening cooperation between organisations focusing on gender equality
- Development of support services for victims of domestic and gender-based violence (including specific groups such as senior citizens, the LGBT community and the Roma population)
- Prevention and reduction of incidences of domestic violence
- Cooperation of Czech and Norwegian organisations and the sharing of Norwegian experience
Funding Information
- The sum of 2.6 million CZK in the Fund for Bilateral Cooperation is to be used specifically for the cooperation of local and Norwegian organisations.
- The maximum sum to be allocated to a project is 132,500 CZK and travel expenses may not exceed 53,000 CZK per person.
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-governmental organisations, research and academic institutions, public and private sector, church organisations and also intergovernmental organisations in the Czech Republic are eligible for funding from the programme.
- The grant can be only obtained by subjects with a minimum existence of two years on the day of application and which will be realising the project themselves, that is not just to mediate the realisation.
- Each applicant may submit a maximum of three grant applications.
- Another condition is a non-commercial purpose, independence from political parties and commercial organisations and their associations.
- In the case of religious organisations, this means only projects not aiming – in either a direct or indirect way – at the promotion of religion and belief.
