Deadline: 7-Nov-21
The Council of Europe (COE) has announced a call for participants for the “Reimagine our Future: Youth Policies Meeting New Realities” Seminar to support and encourage innovation in youth work and youth services, especially in the context of COVID-19 challenges.
The pandemic has led to major disruptions in everybody’s life. As the societies try to get back to normal, policymakers and all those involved in youth issues need to address new challenges faced by young people in a pro-active way, through adapted youth policy development and tailored programmes for young people. Addressing the effects of the pandemic requires creativity and cross-sectoral approach in youth policy development.
The seminar “Reimagining our future: youth policies meeting new realities” is organised as part of the 2021 work programme of the Partial Agreement on Youth Mobility through the Youth Card. It will offer policymakers and other stakeholders the space to debate and reflect on emerging topics that need to be addressed in youth policies and programmes, particularly through the European youth card scheme.
Aims
The seminar aims to:
- Offer latest information (based on research) and inspiration (based on good practices) to policy makers regarding the new realities faced by young people;
- Create the space for debate, reflection, and partnership-building to address new and more complex challenges faced by young people;
- Explore the ways in which European Youth Card can be a tool to identify emerging topics in youth policy development and help reach out to beneficiaries (young people).
At the end of the seminar, participants will:
- Identify emergent topics that need to be addressed through youth policies, following the pandemic context;
- Have a better understanding on how the EYC can be mainstreamed in policy development.
