The German-Turkish Youth Bridge is excited to launch a call for applications to strengthen the exchange between young people from Germany and Turkey.
For this purpose, they support partner organizations that carry out joint projects in both countries. In reciprocal visits, young people work on a topic of their free choice. The following principles should be incorporated into the project design:
- Inclusion and Diversity: They want to promote equal opportunities and access to international gatherings for less able participants. A group of diverse participants provides a variety of perspectives on a topic.
- Ecological Sustainability: Ecological awareness and sustainable behavior is an important goal for us. For this reason, they take care to consider ecological aspects in projects, for example by using sustainable materials.
- Digital Transformation: Digital tools and learning methods are incorporated into the project design to promote competences and skills. In this context, the opportunities and risks of digital possibilities should also be problematized.
- Participation and Civil Society Participation: Young people participate in the design and implementation of the project. In this way, they discover how they can get involved and participate actively through their engagement.
Important information at a glance:
- Implementation: September 1, 2023 – August 30, 2024. The first meeting should be held within this year.
- Scope: Accompanying digital meetups are requested for an on-site round-trip meet, preparation and follow-up assessment. Due to the current processing times for Vice applications, they recommend that the outbound meeting take place in Turkey.
- Age of participants: 13-30 years old
- Number of participants: at least 10 young people from both countries and 2 group leaders, ie at least 24 people in total.
- Duration: 5 program days per meeting (excluding travel days)
What expenses are financed?
- Travel expenses for outbound and return meetups
- Accommodation and meal expenses
- Program costs (e.g. public transport, entrance fees, supplies)
- Fees
- Personnel, administrative and investment costs (eg purchase of kammer, computers and screens) are not financed.
- The financing is not intended as full financing. Own funds and third party funding from partner organizations are required and will be favorably evaluated in the projected selection.
Who can apply?
- To apply, there must be a partnership between a Turkish and a German organization co-designing and implementing the project idea. The application must be made by a public institution or private non-profit legal entity established in Germany.
On which criteria are the applications evaluated?
- The following criteria have a positive effect on the evaluation of applications:
- Project design takes into account the four principles described
- Young people are involved in all phases of the project (including design, implementation and evaluation)
- Young people with fewer opportunities take part in the project
- Applicants comply with the requirements of the Youth Bridge Turkey-Germany Code of Ethics on the protection of participants
- The project is co-financed by equity and third party funds.
